Dear Red Hat Sisters

Come walk the red carpet!!  This is your chance to emulate your favorite TV or movie star plus add your touch of originality to your regalia for the day.  I’d love to see Lucy and Ethel show up at the convention, or how about Sonny & Cher or even Marilyn!!!  I feel quite certain Liz will show her presence or what if Lena Horn shows up or the Andrew Sisters!!!  Do you think if Dinah Shore comes, will she be in her Chevrolet??   The paparazzi will be everywhere snapping photos of you so don’t be shy!!  There will be more details coming later on this star-studded event taking place right here in Phoenix, Arizona!!!

Last year nearly 600 ladies shared friendship and fun at the eight AZ Red Hat Convention.  We have new, exciting entertainment being planned and it will be announced at a later date once contracts have been signed.

Please carefully read all the details regarding the registrations below and the policies surrounding the day’s events.  The cost includes a fabulous lunch and top-notch entertainment as well as a day of surprises and fun!

  • Tables will be reserved according to how early your reservations are received.  Each registration form will be date-stamped to ensure fairness.
  • One (1) check collected by QM or designee should be sent in for the total number of ladies attending along with a completed registration form and self-addressed, stamped envelope to return your tickets for the convention by February 28, 2010.
  • Tables will seat 10.  It is highly recommended that the Queen Mum or Designee gather her attendees together before entering the conference room which will result in expediting the seating and ensuring that your members will be seated together.  Your tickets will be mailed out to the Queen Mum or Designee approximately two (2) weeks prior to March 13, 2010.  It is imperative that the person responsible for the tickets either forwards each ticket to the attendee or retains them all and brings them to the convention to distribute that morning. 
  • When distributing the tickets to your chapter attendees, please advise each to have their tickets when they arrive at the convention.  Failure to do so may result in placing them at a table other than the table reserved by their chapter.
  • Please go to www.azredhats.com and click on “AZ EVENTS.”  Select “2010 Red Hat Convention then select “Registration” at www.azredhats.com for details to register your chapter.  Please fill out all the information on the registration for with no exception.  You will be sent a ticket for the number of attendees you specified on your registration form, providing the check you send covers the number of attendees specified on the registration form.  Failure to fill out the complete registration form or sending in a check for the appropriate amount may result in delays in seat assignments. 
  • If a member decides at a later date to register after her chapter has already sent in their registration, unfortunately, we will not be able to seat her with her chapter.  Please note this is a great opportunity to meet other red hat ladies whom you can share ideas and perhaps even plan a red hat trip together!
  • Your “cancelled” check will be your confirmation that your reservations have been received.  Check should be made payable to Janie Rausch and sent to 1717 E. Cielo Grande Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85024.  Please do NOT send registered mail, as this will only delay your registration.
  • A professional meeting planner has been hired to co-ordinate all reservations and seating assignments.  We are sorry but there will be “no refunds.”  Please sell or donate your ticket to another red hatter if you cannot attend.
  • We have opened up registrations to Red Hat Chapters from other states.  Do not wait until the last minute to register.  The seats will go quickly.
  • The fabulous menu will be a delight to the eye as well as the palate.  You know how important food is to our red hatters; therefore, we are taking our time in our menu selection to ensure your anticipation will be completely satisfied.
  • Vendor Alley will be bigger and better than last year (and we didn’t think that was possible) but wait until you see the newest items to adorn us!  It’ll be a WOW!  I always am looking for new vendors and they are judged to ensure top quality products are offered to our ladies.
  • Registration deadline is March 7, 2010. – Always visit www.azredhats.com for any updates on the convention!  Please share ALL information with your members even if you cannot attend.

I look forward to seeing you at the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge on March 13, 2010.  It will be a day to remember and a day to make new friendships and renew old acquaintances.
